Lyrics

Where do we stand? Is everything alright now?
Where do we stand? Please tell me that we can work things out.
I never meant to hurt you. You never meant to hurt me too.
Tell me what can make everything right.

You say you love me, but do you love me enough to stay?
Or will you leave and let this good thing end this way?
I never meant to hurt you. You never meant to hurt me too.
Tell me what can make everything right.

Oh, where do we stand? Is everything alright now?
Where do we stand? Oh, please tell me that we can work things out.

Oh, now now now now. Where do we stand?

I never meant to hurt you. I never want to lose you.
Tell me, just tell me, everything’s alright.

Where do we stand now?
Where do we stand now?
Where do we stand now?
Where do we stand now?

Where do we stand now?
Where do we stand now?
Where do we stand now?
Where do we stand now?

I went out the other night for a drink and for some R&R.
I saw this crazy little mama sittin’ at the other end of the bar.
And I said to myself, “Man, that babe is lookin’ fine tonight!” Well alright.
I sent a couple of drinks and a couple of winks with a smile.

It’s time to rock and roll. It’s time to rock and roll.
I sent a couple of drinks just to see if she would rock and roll.

And so she came over to me and she sat next to me at the bar…. Not too far.
But when the band finished playin’, a well we went for a ride in my car.
And then she moved a little closer; My heart was racin’ to my surprise. Oh my my.
You know it wasn’t much longer when we pulled over to the side. Yeah!

It’s time to rock and roll. It’s time to rock and roll.
You know it wasn’t much longer when we started to rock and roll.

And then it grew a little quiet as I gazed into her eyes in my car.
So she turned on the radio and tried to tune it to some fast dancin’ star.
So I said, “Wait a minute, baby, I think there’s somethin’ you oughta know. Don’t you know….
That when it comes down to music, I only do it to rock and roll.”

It’s time to rock and roll. It’s time to rock and roll.
And so she turned to a station that played only rock and roll!
It’s time to rock and roll. Yeah, yeah. It’s time to rock and roll.
I had to tell Mr. DJ, “There’s somethin’ that I have to say:
You know you’d be alright if you would rock and roll the night away.
I’ll tell you what to play:
If you want to be a hero just keep turnin’ out the rock and roll!”
Let’s rock!

So many things have happened since the day that we first met.
We’ve grown to know each other well in the time that we’ve been friends.
And some of my fondest memories lie in those times.
You’d be surprised at what you might find if you would look into my eyes, but
Until that day you’ll still be blind to how I really feel inside,
‘cuz I’m just a friend who wants to be more than just a friend.
More than friends.

You come to me for comfort when your life has gone amiss,
And all the while I hold deep inside a secret longing for your kiss.
Hints of how I really feel are in the signals that I send
And I fell in love with my daydreams of you and I as more than friends.
But I, I keep my feelings locked inside
And hide behind a thin disguise
‘cuz I’m just a friend who wants to be more than just a friend.
More than friends.

But I can’t seem to hide my jealousy when you’re with someone else instead of me.
And I don’t know just what I’m gonna say, but I’ve gotta let you know I feel this way.

Ohhhhhhh, Ahhhh.
At times you leave me wondering just how you feel for me.
Sometimes I only see what I want to see and so I don’t know what to believe.
So I’ll, I’ll keep my feelings locked inside and hope one day I’ll come to find
That you’re just a friend who wants to be more than just a friend.
More than friends.
Oh, Oh, Oh.

When I lived rich in my youth, I fell for what I saw as truth
but found that my flame was just fantasy.
For in my arms an angel fell who plagued my heart with loving hell
When one day she up and left me.
So let a bit of truth unfold, the sea can be as hot as cold
With starfish and shark lurking everywhere.
And if tonight I dare to dream I know I’ll find the one for me.
There’s plenty of fish in the sea.

But love, love in disguise, locked up within heartbreak and time.
I’ll never know how to let go. It puts me in a state of euphoria.
And now, my life goes on, mem’ries remain to dwell upon.
Doesn’t she know fate’s in control? Keeps me in a state of euphoria.
Go!

Oh, what you see is what you get, but have you seen what you want yet?
Well, if you believe it may come your way.
A granted wish, a dream come true – it takes a while, they’ll come to you.
Your efforts will not be in vain.
You’re almost there, so don’t give up. I know sometimes it can be rough
When life throws us into this thick brick wall.
A bump and scratch will heal with time. A deeper wound will to, you’ll find.
And music will help ease the pain.

And love, love will survive. It will endure the blows of life.
We step in time to tune and rhyme. It puts us in a state of euphoria.
And now, our lives go on. Won’t hesitate when things go wrong.
Fortunately, music you see, keeps us in a state of euphoria.
Go!

Love
Is something of a mystery.
It blinds us to things we should see.
It’s found in the birds and the bees.

And love,
There seems to be so many kinds.
No matter how hard you try
Love is something you cannot define
or buy. (no you can’t)

Love,
Is what you must give to receive.
It’s held in the highest esteem.
It’s something that everyone needs (yes they do).

And love – the most
Powerful feeling there is
Is often shared in a kiss, and
Yet there are so many different forms
Of love, like a smile, or a hug.

Although it’s so precious, it sometimes gets lost.
It’s always been found ‘cuz it’s always been sought.
A delicate mixture of pleasure and pain,
It means so much, yet it’s just so hard to explain!

‘Cuz love
Is something that makes a heart pound,
Continues to grow without bound,
It’s what makes the world go around.
1, 2, 3, 4!
Make it spin now!
Give it away, Give it away, Give it away now.
Give it away, Give it away, Give it away now.
Give it away, Give it away, Give it away now.

Hey hey!

And Love
Is something that makes a heart pound,
Continues to grow without bound,
It’s what makes the world go around.
Love makes the world go ‘round.

Love is something that makes a heart pound,
Love continues to grow without bound,
Love is what makes the world go around.
Love, love makes the world….

I’m singin’ about love.
Is something that makes a heart pound,
Continues to grow without bound,
It’s what makes the world go around.
Put your hands together and let me hear you singin’ about

Love is something that makes a heart pound, (yes it does),
continues to grow without bound, (yes it does),
It’s what makes the world go around.
1, 2, 3,

I’m singin’ about love.
I’m singin’ about love.
I’m singin’ about love.
I’m singin’ about love.
Love makes the world go ‘round.

Love.
I’m singin’ about love. Love.
I’m singin’ about, I’m singin’ about love. Love. Whoo!
Yeah, I’m singin’ about love.

Ahhhh! Whoo!

Why me? Why this social disease? If I do as they please would they lift it from me?
Outcast is my soul as it stands, plagued with all these demands by the brand “Rejection”.
I see – It’s conformity, with these fancy new shirts and designer jeans, but
It’s in, so we’ll try it again. We’ll just try to blend in, lest we be forgotten.

So you walk to their door like so many times before
and they turn you away. Try again some other day.
They stop you dead in your tracks, but it’s no use turning back,
And so you walk, carry on as if nothin’s goin’ on inside.

Hello – but they think it’s goodbye. No one ever knows why you’re consumed by silence.
Outside, always there lookin’ in. Third wheel’s spinnin’ again in a dead rotation.
Sometimes they welcome you in, but it only depends on for what they want you.
Get lost! But you already are. By the light of the “stars”, you will walk in darkness.

It’s so easy to see, yet it’s not what they perceive.
They keep crushing your dream that one day you’ll come to be.
You’re an invisible soul, with nowhere else left to go and so you
Live this fake life, but each day you feel you’ve died inside.

You want inside. Just want inside. I want inside. (Ha! Lemme in.)

Out, out brief candle. Life is but a petty player who struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. He is a fool, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Hang tough. Just a little bit more. If you try hard enough you’ll get your foot in the door.
For what? Is it worth it to you? Romans influence you just to do as they do.
What if, when you finally get in, will you become like them – just as blind and mindless?
What if, if the tables were turned, and they came to your door, shall revenge be granted?

And you hold out your hand, but they still don’t understand, and
the price that you pay is the pride you throw away.
If there’s a chance to get in, would you change yourself within?
Or will you turn, walk away, ‘cuz you’re not a ball of clay inside.

You want inside. Just want inside. I want inside.

So let me in!
Let me in!
I want inside!
I want inside!

Whoo! Whoo! Whoo! Whoo!

The night is falling upon me fast, and as my mind drifts into my past
My head is filled with cluttered thoughts of you, oh of you.
For on the one hand we have those looks, and on the other we have the eyes that see
So deep inside of me, where I say that
Everybody needs a song to sing and everybody needs a dream to dream.
But not me, no not I. I lost mine long ago.
She left me cold, and alone. Cuz’
In the eyes of a woman lies the strength and every weakness of a man.
In the eyes of a woman lie the things I’ll never understand. No.
In the eyes of a woman lie the lies, the truth, and deceit.
It leaves me here with nothin’ to believe. Ohhh, believe. Believe.

Believe me. Believe me. Believe me. Believe me. Believe me. Believe me. Believe me.
Won’t you believe me, yeah. Ohhh, nah haa! Whew!
(Ha!)
